FLAGSTAFF,
Ariz. – The Northern Arizona athletics department is offering two special
promotional nights next week to help build the “Sixth Man” for the Lumberjack
men’s basketball team as they open Big Sky Conference play against Montana State
and Montana.
“The
return to the Skydome has been met with great enthusiasm and the fan support
has been outstanding,” said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr.
Lisa Campos. “With our students heading home for winter break, we are
looking forward to having the Flagstaff community come out to help us create an
amazing atmosphere to start the Big Sky Conference season.”
The Big
Sky opener against Montana State on Monday will be Flagstaff High School Night.
All FHS students, faculty and staff who show FHS identification will receive
tickets for just $5. Accompanying guests of FHS students, faculty and
staff may also purchase tickets for $5 to the game. Tipoff
against Montana State is at 6:35 p.m. in the Walkup Skydome. The
first 1,000 fans at Monday night’s game will also receive a 2012-13 NAU
basketball schedule magnet courtesy of Papa John’s. For more information

“It is
very important that we get total community support for next week’s games and
all the games over the holiday break,” said Head Coach Jack Murphy. “A large
population of our campus has departed for the holiday season so the support
from the Flagstaff community is greatly appreciated as we open Big Sky
Conference play. We look forward them coming out and supporting us in the
Skydome.”
Wednesday
night at the Walkup Skydome will be Coconino Community College
Night when the Lumberjacks host Big Sky preseason favorite Montana. CCC
students, faculty and staff with CCC identification will receive free
admission. The $5 tickets will also be available for purchase by
all accompanying guests of Coconino Community College students,
faculty and staff. Tipoff against Montana is at 6:35 p.m.
