Auditions at Theatrikos: It's a Wonderful Life

I’m directing “It’s a Wonderful Life” which runs from Dec. 6 to Dec. 22.
This is one of my all-time favorite stories and I’m really excited to have the opportunity to direct this show.

We need a very large cast and I’m hoping that you can help get the word out about auditions. I’ll also need backstage volunteers so if you know someone who might want to get involved, I can promise a fun time. I can’t wait to get started on rehearsals!

Thank you for helping to spread the word. Here are the details:

It's a Wonderful Life was adapted for the stage by James W. Rodgers from the original Frank Capra film.
Directed by Becky Daggett
Stage manager Tracie Hansen

You're invited to attend one of two nights of auditions:

Sun., Oct. 6, 6:30 to 8:30pm
Mon., Oct. 7, 6:30 to 8:30pm

Callbacks Wed., Oct. 9 6:30 to 8:30pm. You will be notified whether you need to be at callbacks.

No preparation necessary, but copies of the script will be available for you to borrow beforehand if you'd like to review it.

Performance dates: Dec 6, 7, 8 & 13, 14, 15 & 20, 21, 22

There are 26 roles for men, women, and children.

The adults range in age and all ages are encouraged to come on out!

Four children's roles: boys ages 12 & 10; girls ages 9 & 7 (there is some flexibility in ages). Note special audition time above.

The saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls, whose dreams of escape and adventure have been quashed by family obligation and civic duty, whose guardian angel has to descend on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and to remind him—by showing him what the world would have been like had he never been born—that his has been, after all, a wonderful life.

We can promise you that this cast and crew will have a fun and meaningful experience!

Must be available for rehearsals: Oct. 16 and mostly Mondays through Thursdays from Oct 21 until the show opens. The dates and times of rehearsals will vary according to your character and the number of scenes you're in. There will be some Saturday rehearsals for some actors as well.
