Coconino Federal Credit Union Helping out Members During Shutdown

As the only locally based financial institution in Coconino County our customers (members of the credit union) are definitely feeling the effects of the Government shutdown. Which in turn has placed the credit union in a unique situation. First, our board of directors immediately put into place emergency loan strategies to help any member affected by the shutdown. This includes skip a pay’s on loans they may have with us and they approved an emergency loan plan with a low unsecured rate and a reasonable term, to make the payments affordable and allow people to catch up.  We have many members employed with the Federal Government, from USGS to the Grand Canyon to Lake Powell, while these members are definitely in a bad situation, they will eventually be paid.  We are also making efforts to reach out to our members that work in and around these areas, the government will not be reimbursing them for tours that didn’t happen or meals they didn’t serve or houseboats they didn’t service.

We are not limiting our efforts to only current member’s, the credit union is open to anyone that lives in Coconino County so we appreciate any help you are able to offer to get the word out to everyone. If you are not familiar with us, we have been serving Coconino County since 1955. We are a full service Federally Insured (not affected by the shutdown) full service financial institution, 2 locations in Flagstaff and 1 in Page. Our mission statement is “People helping People” We are a not-for-profit, financial institution providing quality products and services, while returning value to our member owners.
