Arizona Trail Celebration Weekend

Buffalo-Park

The Arizona Trail Association is having our big celebration weekend in Flagstaff, and I was wondering if it would be possible for you to post on your social media channels about it. Eddie Bauer is hosting a social event where I’ll be giving a talk at 8pm on Friday, the big Trail Day celebration is from 10-2 on Saturday at Buffalo Park, and the Arizona premiere of the movie Unbranded on Sunday at 7pm at the Orpheum theater.

Flagstaff Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine hosting open house, heart screenings Sept. 11

heartScreening
The Flagstaff Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine is hosting an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, at their clinic located at 809 N. Humphreys St. in Flagstaff. The public is invited to tour the clinic, meet the physicians and clinicians and learn more about naturopathic medicine. Additionally, heart screenings are available by appointment from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; walk-in appointments as available.

The informative and interactive event includes light refreshments, free chair massages, a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m. with the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce, an opportunity for guests to learn more about and try the clinic’s hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, and heart screenings.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) enhances the body’s natural healing process through inhalation of 100-percent oxygen while in a total body chamber. It is a simple, non-invasive and painless treatment used for a wide variety of conditions such as stroke, cerebral palsy, head injuries and chronic fatigue.
Additionally, the clinic will offer heart screenings for children and adults on Sept. 11. The screenings are provided by the Anthony Bates Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives by helping prevent sudden cardiac arrest from a condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or HCM. About one out of every 500 people have HCM. It affects men and women equally and is a common cause of sudden cardiac arrest in young people including young athletes.

The evaluation includes an ultrasound, comprehensive echocardiogram or electrocardiogram, commonly known as an EKG or ECG. These tests check for problems with the electrical activity of the heart. HCM disrupts the electrical circuits of the heart, which causes the heart to stop beating resulting in sudden cardiac arrest.

To schedule a heart screening appointment at the clinic on Sept. 11, call the Anthony Bates Foundation at 602-482-5606 or go to AnthonyBates.org. The screenings are free; donations are appreciated.

Established in 1986, The Flagstaff Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine is the oldest naturopathic clinic in Flagstaff. The clinic offers complete family healthcare through the use of natural therapies.
